This carving was made from a fragment of a Brazilian quartz crystal that has inclusions of needle like crystals called rutile. The stone is associated with mental clarity, intuition and helps break patterns of negative thought. It has been inlaid with a highly directional Mexican crystal opal, a stone associated with creativity, energy and joy. The opal is 2 carats in weight and is back with a slice of black jade to increase the intensity of its fire.
