Kyanite is associated with water, strength, stillness and purification. It is atuned to the third eye chakra and is said to boost telepathic communication. It is not the easiest stone to carve but a friend who works in Human Resources asked me to make some designs because there are days she feels the need to have it close. The carving is quite solid and does not generally snag fabric but I probably wouldn't wear it with a loose knit. The front shows a lustrous fan of well formed crystals while the back has been rounded and polished smooth.
